The installation is part of WATERHYPERNET, an international network designed to provide accurate ground-based radiometric validation measurements for satellite data quality control. The Chesapeake Bay station is WATERHYPERNET’s first North American site, providing long-term water-quality data to support coastal research and improve satellite monitoring.
